Gisele Eboma

Meet the Founder of Surfing Queen™

Born and raised in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gisele Eboma is a mother, entrepreneur, founder, and creative director of Surfing Queen™, a lifestyle brand inspired by her love for surfing and the beauty of the ocean.

Gisele earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from the Business School of Wichita State University and a Certificate in Social Impact Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania. She is also the author of a children’s book series currently in production, Surfing Gabi, inspired by her daughter’s love of surfing. In addition to designing and sewing, Gisele enjoys cooking, playing the piano, and is currently developing a Surfing Queen™ house pottery line.

From an early age, Gisele knew she wanted to learn how to sew and design. Purchasing clothes and accessories from third parties never felt fully authentic to her, as she wanted greater control over the quality, design, and craftsmanship of her creations. That passion led her to learn garment construction and design her own pieces.

When Gisele began learning to surf more than 10 years ago, she noticed how few women of color were represented in the sport and how few surf brands were owned by women of color. That realization inspired her to create a brand that reflects both surf culture and African culture. Surfing Queen™ was born from that vision — a brand rooted in authenticity, creativity, and purpose.

Her mission for Surfing Queen™ is simple: to create truly unique and magical pieces inspired by the beauty and energy of ocean surfing, while blending African-themed elements into every design.
